LAUSD misuse fund worth $1 billion, faces lawsuit by frustrated parents

Art education is vital for students’ cognitive, emotional, and creative development. In response to this, Proposition 28 allocated $1 billion for arts education in LAUSD. However, funds have allegedly been misused, as they were redirected to cover existing staff costs rather than hiring new art teachers.
