The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted surprise inspections at 27 schools in Rajasthan and Delhi on September 3, 2024, to tackle the issue of dummy schools and ensure compliance with board regulations. The inspections, carried out by teams of CBSE officers and school principals, aimed to provide an accurate picture of school operations. CBSE reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high educational standards and will take appropriate actions against schools found non-compliant.

The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) has released the NEET UG 2024 round 1 seat allotment results. Candidates can check their results on the official website, wbmcc.nic.in. Those allotted seats must report to their assigned institutions from September 3 to 5 with necessary documents, fees, and bonds. Admissions for medical and dental colleges will be processed at NRS Medical College and Dr R Ahmed Dental College, respectively.

The Kerala Pareeksha Bhavan (KPB) has announced the results for the Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (KTET) 2024 on September 3. Candidates can check their scores on the official website using their login credentials. The final answer key saw multiple revisions across all categories. The minimum passing scores range from 50% to 60%, depending on the category. KTET scores remain valid for a lifetime. The education loan asset under management (AUM) of non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) in India is projected to grow by 40-45% to exceed Rs 60,000 crore in the current fiscal, driven by rising demand for higher education abroad, according to a CRISIL Ratings report. Despite robust growth, only a small fraction of Indian students are funded by NBFCs. However, rising tuition costs, inflation, and limited alternatives suggest substantial growth potential for NBFCs in the education loan sector.

President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the importance of research in India’s education system at the 21st convocation of Symbiosis International (Deemed University). She highlighted the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020’s focus on promoting research and expressed confidence in the ability of India’s youth to solve both national and global challenges. President Murmu also encouraged leveraging government initiatives like Start-Up India, Skill India, and Stand-Up India to achieve development goals, especially for marginalized communities.
